Our
History
Mr. Ray Pierce opened Ray’s PeGe Restaurant in Monroe, Louisiana, in 1960. It began as an ice cream parlor but was quickly re-arranged to prepare and serve food. In 1967, Ray’s Pege was relocated to our present Monroe location. Ray’s unique recipes generated a huge following in a very short period of time. Hard work, perseverance, consistency and absolute adherence to the copyrighted superior recipes that made this concept famous…roast beef, ham and cheese po-boy with French fries or kurly Q’s and gravy, hamburger steak with onions, cream potatoes and gravy, chicken and fish dinners, hamburgers and sandwiches, vanilla and chocolate homemade ice cream plus the special formulations of chicken batter, waffle batter, pancake batter, and the famous authentic gravy have been the keys to this community business’s success and future expectations. It is well known that Ray’s Pege Restaurant is greatly respected in Ouachita Parish, throughout Louisiana and beyond.
